Artists use simple language units such as notes, lines, letters or shapes to build and create their own inner world. These units alone mean nothing, but when combined, new realities take place.
The project arises from the contemplation of these figures, which in photography as an artistic discipline, would be the shapes that form the material world.
I don’t empathize with what they are or what they represent. I just observe their physical appearance and the drawing they generate when translating them through the lenses from 3 dimensions into 2 dimensions.
The resulting images are flat and hollow. Blank shapes devoid of meaning and content. What we understand by reality could be a fictional empty set designed by others, waiting for us to give it our own meaning. A white canvas in which to paint our own scenery or landscape.
Each image is a loose piece inside a kit or set of construction parts. Like for example the Lego or Meccano building toy blocks or the pieces of a puzzle. The result is also inspired by constructions and architecture materials samples and catalogues.
With this work I would like to suggest that even though the stage set is already built, if we play when creating, like kids or artist do, we could maybe write another story, sing another song, paint another landscape or build another city.
